Bon Scott joking, smiling, having fun with the music (pics from videos)

AC/DC‘s singer Bon Scott and Buzz Bidtrup The Angels ‘drummer met each other many times between 1971 and 1979 at Adelaïde, London, Sydney.
Their both bands were signed by Albert Productions and they used to share the same recording studio for many years. During an interview for Meltingpod, Buzz told us his memories from AC/DC and Bon, a musician he « adores ». Six months ago people from Fremantle, a town near Perth Western Australia, where Bon Scott spent a big part of his youth from 9 until 21, where a part of his family is still living and where he is buried now after a tragic death in 1980 February 19 th at London, asked Buzz to help them to honour Bon Scott, raising the money to erect the first statue ever built for a rocker in Australia.
Buzz is organizing for that goal, February 25th, The Bon Scott Celebration Concert with a lot of famous rock bands who are coming from all around Australia like Rose Tattoo, the Angels, the Party Boys including AC/DC’s ex-members : the singer Dave Evans and the bassist Mark Evans, a girls band : The Sure-Fire Midnights, a kids band : the Flairz, old friends or young bands inspiring by Bon and AC/DC…Buzz gives us all details of that event which is planned in fact during three days from the 23th to the 25th.
BTW : The extra money will be given to a foundation to help young rock bands with health or financial issues.
The musical extracts to illustrate Buzz’s talk about Bon and AC/DC come from some Live videos I found on Youtube under the tags : Bon Scott + the title of the songs (Walk all over you, Riff Raff, TNT, Whole Lotta Rosie, Live Wire, Jailbreak, Problem Child) Bon Scott + Fraternity (Seasons of change).

Meltingpod Connections : Update 02/15
If you want to watch how Bon Scott and AC/DC were loved in France, look at this great video sent by some of AC/DC ‘s fantastic fans who don’t stop to share every days their passion on Youtube; Bon was not « Shot down in flames » after singing that very funny song live in Paris, it was a French triumph we can already share in his eyes without the sound : Woaow !

There is too a cool interview with Angus Young telling how he started in the band with his brother and how he met Bon Scott the first time; Angus speaks with the hands and the arms like a true Italian…interesting !
More infos with the fans here : in French AC/DC Back in Black with good stories and all the lyrics, in English Bon Scott Club and Crabsody in Blue.
For the fun a special version of « Walk all over you Live in Paris » and then with my friends from American Heartbreak during their last show in Europe 2002 « Sin City Live in Belgium »! One video more ?…I can’t stop, I’m a Bon Scott-AC/DC’s hard fan now…Jailbreak in 74 !!

Pirlouiiiit waiting for a pic like a cat a mouse…then ready to shoot !!

A new kind of podcast today, associated to a photos’ exhibition, where Meltingpod and her crazy mix crossed Pirlouiiiit the photographer from LiveIn Marseille-Concertandco through a retrospective from the live shows played in Marseille’s area in 2006.
The idea is to watch a photos’exhibition in a real or virtual gallery listening to the podcasts (music or talk about it) and increase your pleasure !!
The 50 pictures’ exhibition from Pirlouiiiit will start February 7th at Lollipop Music Store-Marseille (until March 3rd); For those of you who don’t live in the town, we will give the link to the virtual gallery from February 8th…keep in touch ! Just to have an idea, look at here :

You will have at least two possibilities : a photocast on MELTINGTALKS where Pirlouiiiit comments with me (in French) these 50 pics ! A cool conversation where we share our passion for pictures and music !
Another one here where I played only music with 12 extracts from the local bands present in this exhibition who gave me the first ones and very quickly their agreements for that (a lot of rockers already known on Meltingpod but you will hear new sounds too) :
Oaï Star : Le destructeur d’horodateurs – LO : Again
Dupain : United Bras cassés – The Hatepinks : Fallen in love with a Jpeg File
Strings of Consciousness : In between – Scott Taylor : Sur ma mule (a song from David Lafore 5 Têtes)
Ich bin dead : My fiction – D’Aqui Dub : O ma Brunetta !
Cowboys from outerspace : the push in – Cap’tain Carnasse : Pietro
Neurotic Swingers : Wake up your mind-Merakhaazan : Huge Indigo Snails
PS : i’m sorry if some bands on the pics regret not to be in the podcast (25 mn already is long) my door stays opened for a next time if they want !

3/11/06 Melting Roma !

I was during a few days in Italy to join a new association BBJ SHARE.IT founded by friends from Germany and Italy who want to work on projects around the world with the same desires than me with Meltingworlds :
a nice connection ! More info (pics and podcast) on Meltingtalks.
On the way to the meeting at Castel Ritaldi (near Perugia) I spent two days in Roma, specially in the old city…to be honest my favorite place to sit down was under the Pantheon‘s portico by night…under the three ranks of huge granite Corinthian columns, I felt me at home looking at the life around me : children playing and laughing loud, silencious lovers, lights coming from the piazza where people were eating, drinking or talking…

14/10/06 the Meltingworlds company is born !

No it’s not a new street theater company even if in the band you could find Pierre Berthelot Generik Vapeur‘s artistic co-director, Michel Crespin Lieux Publics‘ foundator (national center for the creation in street arts), Michel Denis (cultural manager), no it’s just MY new podcasting association : MELTINGWORLDS !! The foundators members are a bunch of old friends with also Ralf Makrutzki (European projects director with Eurocircle) Michel Lecour (entrepreneur in internet sector); at the Head Quarter as secretary : Nadine Gomez ( contemporary art museum curator), as treasurer : Michel Denis; you found : I’m the chairwoman of the Board !
7 people to launch a project to improve and promote cultural exchanges around the world using new technologies as blogging and podcasting (new website in construction : www.meltingworlds.com).
I already have a first cool donator with Jean-Luc Blache (Art Chic president, city-planner architect) and Bruno Gilles , the mayor of my area in Marseille promised to help me financially from next year ! It ‘s a good beginning !
I hope to go and podcast for you at least…in Australia ?

Meltingpod Connections :
For the little story, last Spring Lars sent me a video where he played didgeridoo on « Night in Venice » with a friend of him at the vocals and guitar; I told him : hey Lars, it’s a fantastic idea but please, invite Chris to sing and play guitar with you…and he did it !!! Bravo Lars !! Last Christmas, Lars sent me this gift…you understood, we are a little obsessive !!
Another fanatic from San Francisco sent me this Saints video right now.

26/08/06 Perth-Marseille Connection !

Wouahouh!!!! Thanks to John from Perth-Australia, singer and bass guitarist in Open Wound who sent me this morning this fabulous link to the Saints‘ video with Chris Bailey singing « I’m Stranded » at his debut in 1976….as wrote the poster on youtube : « This video cuts short by about 5 seconds at the end but I’m sure any Saints fan will be more than happy with the video anyways ». Hey, the Meltingpod-Saints’ fans : COME ON!!!
I watched during my last holidays a 4 hours film with a lot of interviews from the earliest most famous punk rock bands around the planet « Punk atttitude » by Don Letts with the Sex Pixtols, The Clash, Buzzcocks…a DVD offered by my friend Markus after my Buzzcocks’meeting in the plane flying to Berlin !!…a total pleasure but without mentioning the Saints it was for me a shock and a big deception. The Saints are soooo goood ! Right ?

Meltingpod Connection : You could find on MELTINGTALKS a lot of interviews (most of the time in French) with musicians who are playing at the Eurockeennes from Belfort » a big rock festival with 80 bands in three days !!! ((June 30th, July 1st and 2sd).

26/05/06 Meltingpod podcasts the Eurockeennes !

Meltingpod was invited by the French festival-the Eurockeennes de Belfort-team (one of the biggest European rock festival) to podcast some bands who are playing this summer between June 30th and July 2th : I got a list with different artists probably free to answer my questions. You can imagine that I accepted with pleasure that challenge : calling musicians having musical styles ranging from rap-hip-hop to rock-electro-rock-metal via French chansons…that was something made for Meltingpod !!
The interviews will be most of the time in French that’s why I chose to edit them on my other website : MELTINGTALKS ; but I will give you here the interviews in English, news or videos. Stay connected !
You could already find on Meltingtalks two podcasts : the first one with Katerine a French musician who sings funny and provocative songs and the second one with a band from the suburbs of Paris called La Caution who surfs the wave rap-hip-hop-electro and give us good lyrics, sincere without compromise.
