Michael in Rotterdam (videopic) and Lola Spinner‘s album : Shadow

7:am in San Francisco with Michael Butler (podcaster with the Rock and Roll Geek Show and bass guitarist with American Heartbreak) 10:am in Philadelphia-USA with Donna 4:pm in Marseille-France and just around midnight in Melbourne-Australia with Shane ! I invite you for this N°50 ( in fact if I add my Meltingtalks’shows I did 85 PODCASTS !!) to share our Skype conversation about Podcasting from the debut in September 2004 until now, the music we are playing in our podcasts (Mike started the first musical podcast in the world and works for Adam Curry and Podsafe Music Network now, I only am the first woman who started a podcast in France and the female companion to the RnRGS…:)…quickly the conversation became not podsafe : NOT allowed for all ages…:) but the music is 100% Podsafe with The Joykiller‘s song : Ready to Play (can be found on PMN; album : Ready Sexed Go), American Heartbreak’s song : Isolation (album : American Heartbreak) and Lola Spinner‘s song: Forbidden Fruit (album : Shadow; French-English band based in Paris). If you like their music, support these artists, buy their cds and show another way is possible !

Meltingpod Connections :

Update 7/04 : A lot of funny and serious photos about the demonstration anti-CPE in Marseille April 4th on MELTINGTALKS

1/04/06 Meltingpod stops playing rock and roll !

Yes, I stop playing this music because like my good friend Buzz Bidstrup from the Angels I’m sick and tired to live under the sex, drugs and rock and roll tag ! I decided to talk about politics and I propose to you a new show today with only revolutionnary songs recorded live in Marseille’s streets March 28 th during the demonstration against the government.

19/03/06 Conversation with the Angels

The Angelsband were touring Australia-Queensland these last days and I was with them through Buzz Bidstrup (the Angels’ drummer) ‘s cell phone : I did an interview « backstage » with Rick Brewster, the terribly talentuous Angels’s lead guitarist who never left the band…with a very strong faith in that band (as famous as AC/DC in Australia and in the US) he spoke about his musical evolution during 30 years.
The Angels started in 1976 with the Brewster’s brothers Rick and John (lead guitar and guitar), Doc Neeson on lead vocals, Buzz Bidstrup on drums, Chris Bailey on bass : I played « I ain’t the one » recorded live at Thirsty ear festival in 1980 with this line-up, « Dogs are talking » and « Let the night roll on » released in « Beyond Salvation » in 1990 with Rick Brewster, Doc Neeson, Bob Spencer on guitar, Brent Eccles on drums, Jim Hilbun on bass. Now in 2006, the Angelsband are still touring with the original members back again (Rick with Buzz and Chris but without Doc, John playing guitar and singing the lead vocals) : you can find the song I played « Face the day » in their last album recorded live in Sydney in 2004 and released in 2005.

It’s a true nice Meltingpod connection : Lars Wallin saw the Black Halos touring Europe in Goteborg-Sweden and met my friend Adam Becvare, the Black Halos‘ guitarist now, born in Brisbane-Australia (a town near the places where I did the phone interviews with the Angels in this podcast !!).

9/01/06 Hopeless in the Woman Show !

The Black Halos, a rock band from Vancouver (Canada), alive after the US hurricane and a year tour : stay wild ! Billy Hopeless, the B.H.’s singer tests the WOMAN SHOW N°0 with a 40 minutes long interview and punk rock music from their last album « Alive without control » : Last call at the toothless saloon, Broken, Burning trash and Studio suffering. Don’t forget to watch their great video where the band is playing in a peep show for the girls’eyes’pleasure. The Black Halos are touring Europe in March/April 2006 : check the dates in your town at Teenage-head music’s website.

5/12/05 Marseilles : The Angels’ song !

John Brewster, The Angels band‘ guitarist, singer and songwriter of the famous song « Marseilles » is my guest today with Buzz Bidstrup , the drummer, a Meltingpod regular visitor ! The Angels band were in tour in Australia and I called them on Buzz’s cell phone during their interesting activities before playing a show : driving too fast because being late, doing the soundcheck, quickly eating and before springing on stage…answering to Meltingpod and promising to sing Marseilles for Annie !
The first song in the show « Dreambuilder » comes from the first album « The Angels » (released in 1977 by Albert) with Doc Neeson at the vocals.
The new version of Marseilles (released the first time in the album « Face to Face » in 1978) comes from the Angels band’s last live album recorded at the Basement in Sydney in November 2004 (released in 2005).

Meltingpod Connections:
Thanks to Loic Le Meur from the French radio station Europe 2 who chose to promote Meltingpod so friendly. You will find in his website a long version (9mn) of his interview with me.
Thanks to my friend Michael Butler who is playing for me a cool rock song called « Annie » from Copperpot on his last podcast in « the rock and roll geek indie cast and who introduced me to the song « Marseilles »!!
EUCD.info always is fighting against the vote of the DADVSI (examination at the National Assembly December 20 and 21th) : help their action ! help yourself ! this law is totally crazy for everybody ! Luc launched a forum on his website about this subject called the eStalinisme !

27/11/05 The Aborigines love punk and roll !

Lars Wallin from Uddevalla-Sweden is the guest today with some of my favorite Saints and Chris Bailey’s songs from the albums Eternally hours, All fool days, Scarce Saints and Demons. Lars sang in a punk rock band the Strawdogs, is as big Saints’ fan as me, now is playing didgeridoo and touring with an aborigines band from Australia : the White Cockatoo…sometimes he plays The Saints songs with his didgeridoo…you understood why I was attracted…nice meltingpod ! I met him only on the internet through his very interesting website, with a lot of Saints’pics and videos (in 2003 and 2005). I recommand you : Chris Bailey and the local Saints (a bunch of Lars’ friends); the sound is not very good but the show is very exciting. The White Cockatoo’s videos are amazing (tour 2005 : Kunkurra, Tiwi Warrior, Liftaren…). I hope I could do something to divert their European tour until Marseille next year…

14/11/05 Safe between the Angels and the Saints

Buzz Bidstrup, the Angelsband‘s drummer, songwriter, manager and producer, talks with me from Australia about copyrights, labels and agreements to play free music on the internet for non-profit podcasters who promote the bands : more a cool conversation than an classical interview. I played many songs of the Angels’ four first albums : « The Angels-Face to Face-No Exit-Dark Room » (1977 à 80 : Albert Productions) and the Angelsband’s last live album recorded at the Basement in Sidney in November 2004 (released by the Angelsband themselves). That’s Podsafe ?

Meltingpod Connections :
Thanks to Christophe for his precious website and work about the Angels’ discography (every released albums with dates, line-up and labels there !!).
Hamster Atomique has a nice blog too with a lot of stuff about Australia and every Angels, Angelscity, Angelsband.
ALERT !!! EUCD.INFO…if you can read French have a look about this interesting review, if not just look at the evocative pics…
The new law about the copyrights seems to be only a part of the iceberg…even the musicians could lose the possibilities to give their own music to download in free mp3 files on their own websites…logic, no ?!
What are we waiting for ???

17/10/05 Stronger than the Hurricane !

The Black Halos (Vancouver-Canada) directly interviewed from Texas in the middle of the second hurricane…a special ambience; during a week I tried to reach Adam Becvare, The Black Halos’ guitarist and friend of mine, on his cell phone during their US tour for an interview planned since months…and at least I just reached him on the way between Florida and Texas at the worst period…he sounded very tired after hours spent in the van in the middle of the chaos of evacuated people but they are continuing the tour to promote their new album « Alive without control » and I’m giving you to listen to some songs of this punk rock and roll stronger than hurricanes ! Hey girls, look at this video where these sexy guys are playing in a peep show for girls…and be ready, they are coming soon to Europe !
Thanks Manny …:)

6/10/05 Right to Rock

Waiting for the Death of my Generation…! the Streetwalkin’Cheetahs are still alive ! In this show you will hear some songs from their album I got in 2002 after their last concert in Marseille before the band broke up…today they are reforming the original band in L.A. where they are living with some ideas for the future…an interview with « the Rock Bomb », Frank Meyer the SWC singer and guitarist will give you a lot of informations about the band’s new projects, the song’s lyrics, the rock concerts in Los Angeles with sometimes porn stars as support band, the new book Frank co-wrote about the Ramones on the road, Sweet Justice the new band he built to stay in form…Sometimes they are interesting people in the USA we must not forget it and I love them ! SWC is in the Teenage Head Music‘s roster.

A cool surprise : a bear from the polar circle did his first podcast and dedicated me his first song, the hands full of diamonds (« je suis chanceuse »). Hello to the Canada and Quebec !!
Second surprise today : I’m listed on iTunes after waiting three months !!! If you need a spell with some toad’s spittle let me know, maybe it could help you like me ! though thanks to Luc, Didier and…the toad !
Our Hamster Atomique announces he loves others bands than the Angels (he loves the Ramones too) and is opening a new website for the Dandy Warhols where I’m noticed as his favorite podcast in the world : hey hey !
